Sloth's Psychedelic Breakfast

Sloth's latest music release is a fascinating, intelligent mix of breakfast dialog, snazzy tunes, and endless stereo reverb. By the end of the set you will find yourself in the fetal position muttering, "it tastes good and it feels good" or tapping your feet to the beat wondering if you have the fortitude to playback from the beginning.
The breakfast theme emerges throughout the mix, highlighting the standard morning routines (such as cereal, coffee, and the morning news). Fortunately, Sloth keeps the experience in the realm of breakfast and spares the listener from "experiencing" a morning shower.
I recommend listening to this with headphones to get the full experience of stereo sound (and to minimize outside distractions). This music can be enjoyed without bin-aural listening instruments but the experience is greatly diminished!
While the psychedelic stimuli peak by near the end of Part Two, encore presentations of monotone narratives remind us that we are following Sloth through his morning routines (and remind the listener of the joys surrounding breakfast). The focus shifts from psychedelic to audio sampling.
The selected cuts contain catchy beats and captivating measures. "It's all True" from Tracey Thorn's newest album, Out of the Woods, concludes the mix.
Sloth returns to morning narratives as he cleans up the breakfast dishes to close out the mix. The listener almost feels like they spent the morning with Sloth (and maybe a tab of acid).
I do not recommend this music to the easily annoyed, anal retentive, or psychotic. The incessant narratives in the first few minutes might push them over the edge...
This might take a few tries before you can really enjoy listening to the entire mix. If you are not used to clever diversions from the music (such as an un-enthused voice reading cereal ingredients), you might just have to open your ears and mind.
And remember, "a bit of elbow grease for the dishes" makes them "squeaky clean."
Sloth's Psychedelic Breakfast receives 7/10 on the Matter of Phact index. For more information on Sloth (as well as links to download this and other mixes), please visit Slothwerks.com.
